From 17th to 19th April 2026, Udaya Public School, Ayodhya joined the Government of India's Jal Shakti Abhiyaan — the national campaign for water conservation — with a three-day, school-wide initiative led by our Go Green Club. The aim was simple yet powerful: to help students, teachers, and the wider community understand why saving water matters, and to inspire everyone to take small but meaningful steps in their daily lives.
What began as a campaign quickly became a shared responsibility. Students reflected on their daily habits and discovered how small changes — turning off a running tap, reusing water at home — add up to a real difference.
Water Conservation Competitions for Every Age Group
Students participated with great energy and creativity in a full slate of activities:
- Quizzes on India's water resources and conservation practices
- Poster making and drawing competitions on saving water
- Essay writing on sustainable water usage
These platforms gave every student a chance to express their ideas about water conservation in their own way. Their entries reflected genuine awareness and a strong willingness to contribute — many proposed practical, innovative suggestions for reducing water waste at school and at home.
Taking the Message Beyond the Classroom
Alongside the competitions, the school organized cabinet meetings, Bal Sabha sessions, and community awareness drives. Students stepped out of the classroom and engaged directly with the neighbourhood around our Panchkosi Parikrama Marg campus, spreading the message of responsible water usage to families and local residents.
This is the same spirit of student-led service that drives our clubs and community programmes throughout the year — learning that connects classroom lessons to real life.
Learning the Health Connection
To deepen the campaign's impact, teachers conducted digital presentations on water-borne diseases, helping students understand the health risks of unsafe water and the importance of hygiene. The sessions connected two ideas that often stay separate: conserving water and keeping it safe.
A Habit, Not Just an Event
The initiative created a positive, inspiring environment across the school. More importantly, it planted long-term habits — the understanding that water conservation is not a three-day campaign but an everyday responsibility. That is how we approach environmental education at Udaya: awareness first, then action, then habit.
